I love X-Men! I have loved it since I was 8... I watched both the cartoons, collected comic books, and yes, watched the movies, including the execrable X-3... I was wary, very wary indeed about X Men: First Class... but amazingly it was actually a lot of fun.. Some very strong performances, a strong if somewhat truncated narrative, excellent action sequences, fantastically quaint 1960s setting! But as always, I came away grumpy! X-Men has historically had some of the strongest, most engaging female characters of any comic book canon (The originals like Storm and Mystique, later additions like Rogue, Wanda etc), and XMFC was a bit of a letdown in its depiction of women... So I did what one does, when one feels the need for moar awesome ladies... I genderswapped... With the help of the lovely manderkitty I picked the men and women that I'd have chosen for XMFC had the genders been reversed
