I love X-Men! I have loved it since I was 8... I watched both the cartoons, collected comic books, and yes, watched the movies, including the execrable X-3... I was wary, very wary indeed about X Men: First Class... but amazingly it was actually a lot of fun.. Some very strong performances, a strong if somewhat truncated narrative, excellent action sequences, fantastically quaint 1960s setting! But as always, I came away grumpy! X-Men has historically had some of the strongest, most engaging female characters of any comic book canon (The originals like Storm and Mystique, later additions like Rogue, Wanda etc), and XMFC was a bit of a letdown in its depiction of women... So I did what one does, when one feels the need for moar awesome ladies... I genderswapped... With the help of the lovely manderkitty I picked the men and women that I'd have chosen for XMFC had the genders been reversed


CHARLES XAVIER: Zooey Deschanel Dorky jacket, big blue eyes, and a smile that could convince you to do just about anything, Deschanel would be the perfect Charlie... I can see her use her crazy mind powers to pick up men and destroy the world!


ERIK LEHNSHERR:Milla Jovovich 

From playing Chess games and sampling martinis to ruthlessly hunting down Nazis and attacking the united might of the USA and USSR navy... Jovovich has the right combination of slick and menace to pull off Erika

RAVEN DARKHOLME/XAVIER: Alex Pettyfer
Blonde, wide eyed and brooding, Alex Pettyfer is the perfect disguise for Raven when he's trying to fit in with the world. And he certainly has the body to pull off being naked, blue and scaly

HENRY (HANK) MCCOY: Ginnifer Goodwin
Being a genius is hard. being a genius with mutant feet is harder! Ginnifer Goodwin would bring a naivete to Harriet Mccoy who's infatuated with Raven Darkholme and annoyed with Alexa Summers


ALEX SUMMERS: Amanda Seyfried
Don't be fooled by the innocent face..Amanda Seyfried can pull off Alexa Summers attitude, insolence and insecurities. And pull Harriets pigtails.

ANGEL: Mehcad Brooks
Being a male stripper in the 1960s requires panache as well as a body that won't stop. Mehkad Brooks has both the chops and the pecs for Angel. Now imagine him with irridiscent wings!

SEAN CASSIDY: Lily Cole
She may look young and innocent, but don't be fooled. Lily Cole's voice may not break glass as Shauna Cassidy, but it'll certainly get people to listen

EMMA FROST: Alexander Skarsgard
He can read minds, turn into diamond and mix a mean drink... Emmett Frost is a very able telepath so why is he bound in the service of Sabine Shaw? ASkars can do creepy and he can do eyecandy perfectly for Frost!

SEBASTIAN SHAW: Sharon Stone
Top of the list of people you shouldn't mess with, Sabine Shaw aka Schmidt controls nuclear energy and you can see why the most radioactive isotope wouldn't argue with her. Stone's Baisc Instinct cred makes her perfect for the role of the evil genius!
